Philodendron ‘Imperial Red’

Product Details

Every plant is naturally unique, so slight variations in shape, size, and fullness may occur, and the plant you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Unless otherwise requested or selected, all plants are delivered in a Black Nursery Pot by default.

Philodendron Imperial Red is a bold and elegant indoor plant loved for its large glossy leaves that emerge in rich red to burgundy tones before deepening to darker green as they mature. Its upright, self-heading growth gives it a full, structured look, making it a beautiful choice for living rooms, offices, and styled indoor corners where you want a lush tropical feel with strong visual presence.

Care Tips

Light:
Prefers bright indirect light. Keep it out of strong direct sun, especially in summer, as direct sun can scorch the leaves.

Water:
Water when the top few centimeters of soil feel dry. It likes lightly moist but well-drained soil, and it should never sit in soggy compost.

Temperature:
Grows best in warm indoor temperatures. Typical room temperatures are suitable, and it should be kept away from cold drafts. A minimum of about 15°C is a safe guide.

Humidity:
Prefers moderate to higher humidity, but like many philodendrons, it can usually tolerate normal indoor humidity reasonably well.

Feeding:
Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer regularly during spring and summer, then reduce feeding during cooler months when growth slows down.

Extra Information

Difficulty:
Easy to moderate. It is generally considered a manageable indoor philodendron when given stable warmth, indirect light, and careful watering. This is an inference from standard philodendron care guidance and its common use as a houseplant.

Best Placement:
Ideal for living rooms, offices, bedrooms, or bright indoor corners with filtered light, where its upright growth and rich leaf color can be appreciated. This is a practical placement recommendation based on its light and temperature needs.

Pet Safety:
Not pet-friendly.

Extra Note:
Because it is a self-heading philodendron rather than a trailing type, it naturally grows in a fuller, more upright form without needing a support stick, which makes it especially good for floor pots and statement styling.
